Ohhh September, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love you because (1) You involved Fiji, (2) You involved relaxation on a beach with cocktails and no responsibilities, and (3) You involved lots of beautiful vintage. Ohhh that’s a whole lot of love. As far as I’m concerned, September wins this year, hands down.
It’s still a bit of an adjustment to be back after all of that lounging. But, I must admit that this month also marked some pretty awesome accomplishments – I won a small grant to push forward a Teaching & Learning initiative I’ve been trying to get off the ground, I was able to help my two new masters students submit their research proposals without their heads exploding, I got to collaborate with one of my very favorite vintage shops Word from the Bird, and finally started bringing to life a new dress that I’ve been creating in my head for months (which I’m really excited to make a reality).
So, in an homage to such an awesome month, here’s a roundup of some of my absolute favorite September looks (for full outfit details, feel free to check out the original post).
I‘m once again baffled by how quickly this year went by – seriously, it was just New Years! I remember when I was young and felt as though the school year would drag on forever. I have no concept of time dragging anymore – each year zips by faster than the one before it and I’m not sure I’m okay with that. If someone’s come up with an invention that adds a few extra hours into the day, I’m all ears…
Speaking of time running out, I hope you guys take advantage of the 10% off coupon code to Word from the Bird, which is only good through Friday – head over to their etsy shop and use the code DRESSEDAPP while you can (so many beautiful 1950’s dresses, so little time. I want them all!).
How will you guys be spending the last day of the month? I’ll be skyping with an overseas student trying to train her on brain anatomy (hey, needs must) and indulging in a well deserved glass of wine. Though September was awesome, I’m looking forward to a bit more downtime and a bit less travel in October.
Watch out October, here I come!
xoxo
