Well folks, it’s officially that time of year. No sooner had the Thanksgiving turkey been basted and the tryptophan haze lifted than my panic set in for Christmas. I realize it’s supposed to be a magical time of year, but we all know the truth: It’s a time full of stress and lists and (if we’re lucky) copious amounts of mulled wine.
For me, the stress usually comes in the form of my Christmas shopping list. And it’s always those hard to buy for folks – the ones who seem to have everything. The ones who have very particular tastes. And we all want to find that perfect, unique gift that they never would have thought to buy for themselves. So, I decided to put together another list of gift ideas and stocking stuffers for those hard to buy for friends. Don’t worry, I won’t tell them I gave you the idea….
I just love vintage scarves – they’re so multifunctional. Wear them as a headpiece, a necklace, a sash on your handbag…
No gal I know who wouldn’t appreciate a bit of bling this year…
How adorable are these organic baby leggings? And you can bet no other kid on the playground will be so stylish….
Last week when my niece was here I bought her a vintage 1960’s cape (I was a little jealous). And I realized vintage capes are the perfect gift. Special and indulgent and really flexible in terms of sizing.
I know, guys are notoriously hard to shop for. But even they have toiletries! And how awesome are these monogrammed toiletry bags?
A stunning flower crown is so feminine and carefree…
You can never go wrong with the perfect porcelain ornaments to help your friend trim the Christmas tree with…
The velveteen rabbit was one of my favorite books as a kid – what a great gift to have it (or a dozen other literally works) in pendant form!
Maybe what someone needs this year is a little bit of hope?
Got a coffee lover in your life? What better gift than a handmade personalized mug?
Beautiful belts are the kinds of things you never buy for yourself, but always love to receive…
And of course, should Santa still be stumped on what to get me…this dress would definitely put the star on top of my Christmas tree.
Remember, it’s also an amazing gift to donate to charity in a loved one’s name – there are so many worthy causes this time of year who need our support. And there are a lot of small businesses who donate a portion of their proceeds to a wide range of charities – if you can find a charity that resonates with you, maybe you can find the perfect gift in the process! It’s really the gift that keeps on giving.
I don’t know about you guys, but I plan to dust of my Christmas shopping this week. Maybe it’s the part of me that still has overseas brain, where I’m used to providing a 2-3 week shipping buffer. Or the part that loves to shop small, and knows that smaller businesses have early Christmas deadlines. But more than anything, I think I just want to enjoy Christmas this season. Trim the tree. Skip around town admiring the lights. Sing loudly to Christmas music and find a bit of mistletoe…
Mr. Dressed won’t know what hit him!
xoxo
