Well, that magical time of year is upon us – our girl has turned 4 this month!! I’m always a bit surprised when my blog-a-versary rolls around every year. Sort of like turning a corner and smacking into someone you didn’t expect to be there. As my blog’s birthday also coincides with my own, it is high time for some good old fashioned celebrations!
Ever since I was little, I have always loved my birthday. It’s always full of celebrations with friends, surprises, and presents sailing into my open arms. These days, those presents arrive in mysterious parcels that Mr. Dressed quickly squirreled away, making the buildup all the more tantalizing. This year, many a birthday celebrations were had, and I have never felt so spoiled.
Speaking of spoiled, I’ve partnered with Etsy to spoil you, dear readers, on TDAs birthday! Unless you are just tuning into this blog, you are no doubt aware of my love affair with vintage, most of which I discovered in one of my favorite Etsy shops. Ohhhh the hours Etsy and I have spent together, gazing admiringly at many a 1950’s dress. To celebrate all that I love about vintage, one lucky reader will win a $100 Gift Card to spend at any shop that accepts GCs on Etsy!
You may now proceed to jump up and down. I know I am!
RULES: To enter, use the Rafflecopter widget below – you must be following Etsy (@Etsy) and The Dressed Aesthetic (@dressedapp) on Instagram to be eligible to win. Thank you so much to Etsy for sponsoring this giveaway – and to you all for being a part of what makes The Dressed Aesthetic so special!
I never thought of myself as someone who would start a blog – it’s truly one of the most intimate things you can do. Essentially, I’m letting a whole bunch of strangers into my life (and into my closet). It started out as me wanting to find a space I had control over when my professional life felt like trying to walk on life-preservers in rough seas. Wanting to connect about my passion for vintage with others who might understand. I thought I would just share the shiny parts, the airbrushed insta-perfect moments. But instead I found I had created a space where I could be my truest, most vulnerable self. A space where I am far from perfect, but 100% me.
Every year I’m always in awe of how this space has grown – This last year has definitely had it’s ups and downs. From the ups of traveling to exotic places like Brazil, to pretty low lows of Hurricane Florence, I just knew if I kept clacking away at these keys, I would be safe to whoop and cheer or cry of do whatever the moment warranted.
So although this is a celebration of this space, really I want it to be a celebration of all of you. Thanks for coming into my life and home and listing to my ramblings. Thanks for twirling with me in my garden, clattering uphill with me in my heels. Thanks for giving me someone to write for and something to look forward to.
Here’s to you.
xoxo
