Hello friends! The holidays are nearly upon us (Scary, I know. How did that happen?) But, that means that this is the time of year my mind starts to turn towards fancy frocks: Holiday parties, glasses of champagne bubbling over, and counting down the end of the year with a bang. Basically, there’s not enough glitter and tulle in the world.
So, this month’s Lust List features everything that would help us do the holiday up right – I found the frothiest confections, the sparkliest jewelry, cause if there was ever a time to get fancy… So, with a handful of glitter thrown in the air, here’s a roundup of the latest pretties that I’ve got my eye on!
(anyone in the mood to get me a present??)
To Deck the Halls
I would string these up all around the house, as if the faeries had visited to distribute my Christmas wishes.
Red and green can get a bit too traditional, so I like finding decor that can shake things up (and be used year round). This bunting is too adorable (and comes in all kinds of colors).
I’m always excited about finding unique wrapping paper. In an effort to embrace the Australian Christmas at the beach, how cute is this seaside-themed wrapping paper?
To Get Frocked up!
Forget getting presents. You ARE the present in this dress.
A bit of the darker side of the holidays – I love the swirling ribbon print on this dress.
I love the champagne tones of this dress. A pair of gold heels and some emerald accessories, and I’m set.
She’s a bit on the petite side for me, but everything about this 1940’s dress, from the lace, to the velvet trim, to the rhinestones, is Christmas-ready perfect.
Let’s not forget that Thanksgiving (for those North American folks), which requires the most perfect autumnal-print dress.
I always love a dress I can twirl the night away in. This polka dot number is just dying for a fete…
I love absolutely everything about this dress. Gah! If I had it, I’m not sure I would ever take it off…
A golden glitter confection of holiday dreams…
Though not my normal silhouette, I love the rich velvet of this wiggle dress.
I have several of these midi skirts in different prints, but I think the Glorious Sparkles Midi Skirt might be next on the list!
I love a hot pink party dress, but the adorable floral straps on this one push it over the edge of cuteness!
I love a twirly vintage skirt – and with the perfect sequin top and heels, you have the perfect festive outfit!
Ahhh I love vintage coat dresses! Seeing as we’re heading into summer in Australia I can only admire them from afar, but this one looks like a cozy winter wonderland…
The flowers, the asymmetry, the shoulder detail. This dress gives me chills….
I love the stuffing out of this gorgeous tri-toned dress…
I’m so obsessed with this dress from Chi Chi London – I adore it in black and silver as well. Perfect for all of those holiday parties!
To Dance The Night Away
I can’t ever have two many pairs of sparkly shoes, and the lace-like details on this pair have me swooning….
Teal? Velvet? Yes please to these shoes!
Ahhh these heels are golden delicious…
I’ll take your sparkle and raise you some more sparkle! I love the bow detail on these shoes.
Cause You Deserve Tinsel Too
Because our necks and earlobes need some love too. And if that love can come in the form of bling, who am I to argue?
This handbag is just too cute for words!
It’s no surprise to anyone that I love belts. They always seem to pull a look together for me – this one has just the right amount of sparkle.
All that glitters may not be gold, but it may be a fab vintage handbag!
I’ve had my eye on this necklace for awhile. I just love the clusters of tiny dainty flowers…
Like a beautiful star dangling from your arm, this bag almost glows from within.
There’s something so dark any mysterious about this necklace…it would be the perfect accent to a stark white dress.
To add a healthy dose of sparkle to any holiday outfit…
Just Because
I’ve got my eye on this breathtaking corset to go under all of those amazing dresses. Foundation is everything. I own this WKD corset already in blush, but I would love to get this one in black. Although on the pricier side, the quality of these corsets is amazing…
Everything about this vintage cape screams luxury. Why don’t I have all the money to buy all of the things!
Sometimes, we buy things for form or function. This shawl, is for pure fantasy…
I don’t know about you guys, but in addition to being a bit behind on party-wear, I’m also hopelessly behind on my Christmas shopping. I usually like to get it wrapped up (pun intended) before 1st December to avoid the crowds and the last minute scramble. But, I’m sad to say I haven’t even started yet. Not a stocking stuffer. Not one candy cane. But, true to form, I have started a list. So, you know…
I will say, though, that I try to support local businesses as much as I can around the holidays. I know it can get a bit frenzied around Gift Acquisition Time, but whenever possible I hope we all consider popping into an independent boutique or vintage store in your neighborhood. Check out Etsy or local craft fairs. I’ll be putting together a bit of a gift guide next month, full of unique gift ideas if you’re stumped.
Now, let’s go and get our holiday on!
xoxo
