There are a LOT of different coping mechanisms we all use to get through a crisis. For me, my go-to place for breathing out my problems has been the seaside. Lucky for me, I’ve always lived by the coast (occupational hazard), which has made it very convenient when I need to throw my problems out to sea.
You never know what’s going to draw you to a certain piece. We all have a penchant for something. Some of us swoon for 1940’s shoulders, others for border prints, others for 1970’s flare. Regardless of how you choose to adorn yourself, there will usually be certain things that catch your eye in a garment that instantly make you start to style it about 8 different ways in your head.

This dress was (and still is) a bit of a wounded bird. She has definitely been worn and very, very loved in her time (which makes her all the more beautiful, in my opinion!) One of the best interests I ever followed through on was learning how to sew. It’s empowering to be able to make your own clothes and to make the clothes you buy fit perfectly.
