Yeah, so that thing happened again. You know, where you blink for a second and an entire month has gone by. Where you catch yourself saying, “I can’t believe we’re in March already!” and some kindly person has to pat your arm gently and say, “Ummm…sweetie? Yeah, it’s April.” Oh dear….
I’ve been getting into the swing of things in my new job. And word has started to get around about me and my dresses. From students to colleagues, the lovely words and glances, inevitably followed by some kind of self-deprecating comment about how they wished they too could wear dresses like these.
Well 2017, we are NOT off to the best start. What. A. Month. I know we’re all still reeling from the events of the new year, not the least of which is the chaos surrounding our new “leadership” (and I use those words very, very loosely). This has been a trying month for us all. The only hope I feel is in the upwelling of unity and support – not just around the country but around the globe.
Well, we’ve reached the day where we get to count down the final hours and minutes of 2016. It’s absolutely crazy to me that another entire year has gone by, and at the same time I find myself feeling as if an entire lifetime has passed since January of this year. It’s like the paradoxical feeling of putting your feet into a hot bath and feeling cold.
I’m hanging my head as I type this. Looking back through the archives, the last time I was organized enough to do an outfit recap post was back in August. The last two months have literally flown by in a flurry of packing tape and wardrobe purges. Despite that, I did sneak in some lovely looks that I’m rather fond of. Hey, what can I say. I work best under pressure…
Another August has been and gone. I don’t know about you, but I sincerely feel like time is picking up speed as the years progresses. I blinked and this past month disappeared. And I don’t have a whole lot of recollection of exactly where it went.
Given the mayhem that was June and July this year, I barely had time to stop for a coffee, let alone collate my favorite June looks! So, I’ve decided to reflect on the last two months (which seriously felt like only one) and combine my outfit overviews for June and July.
I’m really excited about today’s post. Like stupid excited. It’s not every day I get to collaborate with a true kindred spirit, who shares so many of my passions, and get to give a little something to all of my readers. I can’t wait for you guys to meet Nikki, owner and proprietress of Nicole Elaine Vintage.
It’s one of the best times on the blog again, where I’m turning the Spotlight On a favorite vintage store! Given my penchant for mid-century garments, it’s no surprise I’ve stacked up quite the collection. But in doing so, I’ve also stacked up quite a few amazing lovely sellers-turned-friends along the way.
Mayhem is the perfect way to describe this month. I was lead into a false sense of security at the start, thinking this month would be more relaxed (relatively speaking), but it ended up like all the others – full of deadlines and moving goalposts. On the plus side, I crossed a few important projects off my list.
