Sometimes, it’s all about an unlikely pairing. Peanut butter and jelly. Science and art. Denim and glitter. We have all of these ideas in our head that force a dichotomy – Pretty and smart. Naughty and nice. One or the other. Someone once told you that you have to choose. But once you really think about it and start to break them down – you realize the real magic is that they were meant to be together all along. Mixed and swirled until something uniquely you is created.
It is no surprise to anyone who’s been following for awhile (and yes, I know I am SUPER lame with posting of late), that no one does a mix better than Vendula London. They are my favorite handbag company for about 18 million reasons. But first and foremost: they are unafraid to boldly go where those lacking in whimsy and innovation rarely go. So when they messaged me about their new Posies and Patisseries range, merging blooms and carbs, I thought, “Hand me a croissant and a bouquet and point me to the road less traveled….

I am kind of smitten first and foremost with the muted colors of the Posies and Patisseries Speedy Bowler – while I usually appreciate a bright statement splash, there is something about the quiet confidence of delicate pinks and pearl grays in this range that has had me reaching for it multiple times over the last couple of weeks.
In terms of size – I love the speedy bowler. It’s not overwhelming (~8″ H x 10″ W x 3″ D), but is big enough to hold all you need to get you through the day, with an inside zipped pocket, 2 inside open pockets, plus an external zipped pocket. It has a detachable strap, but I’ve personally been slinging it over my elbow and heading out the door. As with all Vendula bags, it’s made of printed and embossed vegan leather and doesn’t scrimp on the details. One side boasts an adorable flower shop, while the other a charming patisserie. The details are always unmatched – from a door that swings open, to actual hand stitched storefront signs, to tiny brushed gold feet to keep the bottom safe from stray debris. I also was lucky enough to get the matching folding wallet – I’m a gal who loves a theme. She may be tiny, but the wallet is definitely not lacking in charming details.
Sometimes I think the boldest form of rebellion is to swim upstream. Dare to be different. Wear the flamingo shoes. Head to the lab in the glitter skirt. Embrace the whimsy whenever you can.

If you haven’t guessed yet from my reappearance to these cyber pages – my semester is blessedly over! And WOW this one was truly exhausting. There were many ups and downs and bumps in the road, but like any good pairing – you have to take the good with the bad. I for one am enjoying the good parts – more time to focus on research, trips to far flung destinations, flowers for no reason, and lazy croissants on our back deck while we get a late morning start….
If this cutie has caught your eye, the Posies and Patisseries Speedy Bowler retails for ~$188 USD and the matching wallet for ~$66 USD and both are available on the Vendula London website. While parting with our dollars can be the hard part, the GOOD is the fact that you can actually score your own for free!
