A couple of weeks ago I was interviewed by one of my favorite bloggers, Have Clothes, Will Travel as a Featured Fashionista and was completely humbled and honored to be chosen. She and her husband don’t call one place home, but rather travel all over and see the world, staying as little or as long as they like in one place. I am completely in love with that idea…though I have no idea how I would cart all of my shoes around, there’s something so alluring about a nomadic existence and traveling to whatever country strikes your fancy.
If you missed the interview, I wanted to share the outfit I styled for the post. I chose this look because I think it embodies everything I strive for when I’m getting dressed in the morning: Perfect fit, a beautiful print, a pop of color. The best way to guarantee a successful day is by knowing you’re worthy of beautiful things. That you’re ALWAYS worth the effort.
I‘ve had this dress for years and it’s one of my most reliable. You know the dress I mean – the one you can always reach for, regardless of the event, where you will instantly feel put together. The one that highlights your best features and makes you stand up a little straighter. The one that, like a good friend, holds you tight, brushes off your insecurities du jour and says, “Don’t worry, I got this.” We all need more dresses like that.
Speaking of things we love, I also got to twirl around in the park like a fool while the ever-faithful Willie snarfled around, which is pretty much both of our favorite things to do, despite the fact that there were a couple of neighborhood kids watching. Ah well, at least I gave them a good show (and potentially a fair few flashes of petticoat!)
If you missed it the first time around and want to hear more about my style, how we brought Dressed to life, and my job as a marine biologist, I hope you check out the interview!
xoxo
