At last, at last the sunshine is here and I can start to imagine all of the glorious sundresses and summer sandals that might enter my closet! I don’t dress seasonally most of the time, but I admit I was holding off on some cute summer styles for fear of jinxing it and having winter cackle maniacally while gleefully hanging around for yet another few weeks longer.
Not only is summer glorious, with her sun kissed rays and promises of late night BBQs and beach days, but school is officially OUT. So, there’s also an impending sense of freedom in the months that lay before me. It’s definitely not going to be a 3 month vaca, but I finally get to finish setting up the lab, get my hands stuck into research, and do some much needed traveling (Brazil anyone?). With so many things to look forward to, I naturally start to imagine all of the wardrobe essentials that accompany summer.

It’s so hard this time of year, because it seems like every shop I love has been parading some incredible wares in front of my retinas. I can barely flick through Instagram or check my email without seeing at least 12 things I want. Resistance is futile, and I’m sure that at least one or two of these lust list items will head my way before the summer is out….
Oh summer. How I love you. As I type, I’m sitting on my screened in porch, with the frogs singing their song and Mr. Dressed swinging lazily in the hammock beside me. I don’t have a class to teach tomorrow, and these sweet summer nights stretching tantalizingly ahead of me. I forgot what it was like to have my evenings free, wine in hand.
A gal could get used to this…
