As I’m sure you guys know by now, I love me some cute shoes. I have a particular penchant for heels, and as my size 9’s rarely can squeeze themselves Cinderella-stepsister style into true vintage shoes, I’m always on the lookout for vintage inspired brands. So, I may be a bit late to the party, but having recently discovered B.A.I.T Footwear in the last year, I can’t help but wonder where they’ve been all my vintage-loving life.
What a crazy few months this has been! We started off the new semester (with a new course to prep and new students to corral) and I was immediately whipped into a frenzy of classes and research and trying to continue to set up the lab. And now that October is nearly upon us, my mind starts to instantly travel to styling spooky looks for Halloween. Hey, what’s the point of having a lab full of brains if you can’t get in a zombie mood now and then?

I’ve always been a fan of color. Not one to hide in the shadows, I eagerly reach for vibrant reds and electric blues – any way to bring a bit of brightness into my day. So, the neutral ends of my wardrobe can be a bit sparse. It’s not that I don’t enjoy black and white and browns and beige, but they just aren’t always on my radar (particularly when under-caffienated).
More often than not, we don’t really have a choice about a certain set of circumstances. We’re usually thrown into a situation without warning – everything from a waitress bringing us the wrong order to payroll screwing up our paycheck. And though we don’t get to choose our frustrating moments, we do get to choose how we respond to them.
