It’s hard to believe it, but it’s that time of year again. This has been such a strange year in so many respects…but one thing that will never change: time just keeps on moving forward. I barely blinked and here we were, at the dawn of December again.
With December and all of the trimmings comes the inevitable excitement of Christmas shopping! Mr. Dressed and I definitely took advantage of the Black Friday deals over the weekend and made a good dent in our Christmas shopping. There’s nothing I like better than the satisfying feeling you get from crossing things off your list.
Now, can you blame me if during all of my shopping that I happened to come across items that I wouldn’t be sad to find under my own tree? I mean, what’s a gal to do…?
So, with a pile of glittery snow thrown into the air for effect, here’s my Christmas 2020 wishlist!
To Deck the Halls
Don’t you just think this would be perfect on the wall of my office?? I mean, what is science without caffeine?
I’ve been wanting to upgrade my dress form for ages – my current one I bought years ago when I was new to sewing, and I think a more upgraded version will take my projects to the next level. Size 10 please Santa…
And what’s a sewing room without a cutting table? I’ve commandeered the dining room for way too long… and this one folds up, which is perfect for tight spaces like my sewing room…
If you’ve been following my Instagram, you’ll notice I have fallen madly in love with my Cricut. I’ve definitely been churning through mats, so a spare 12 x 12″ and 12 x 24″ FabricGripmat wouldn’t go amiss….
My tired old shears have had it…a new pair of professional scissors would definitely be on the wishlist this year….
For a White Christmas
I literally die over this skirt….
Given the pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon, it seems wise to stock up on masks. And if you have to wear a mask, shouldn’t it be fruit themed???
There is something so compelling about the color scheme of this dress….
Gah! Trompe l’oeil printed skirts will always have my heart.
Can you imagine this adorable apple jack sweater paired with my homemade apple picking skirt??
Once travel bans are lifted, I hope to travel to London and wear this dress….
She’s a bit on the small side at the moment, but I’ve been after this print for ages. With a few flicks of my sewing machine this Millworth beauty would be ready to rock and roll…. I mean, that PRINT…
I find this top to be unspeakably fabulous…..
Instead of Snow Boots
The most perfect pale blue heels…I feel like I’d be walking on clouds.
I love the details on these shoes.
AHhhhh I love all the glitter shoes!
These green heels are so delicate…like a sunrise over the trees.
I have a few pair of Robbies and I love them. These icy blue ones are perfect for ushering in the snow!
To Replace Santa’s Bag
My other amber-toned lucite bag succumbed to the lucite disease and went to the great vintage store in the sky. This one is GLORIOUS and would definitely help me through the grieving process…
Can you imagine a more perfect bag for me?? (pricey…but mermaid)
I absolutely love everything about this bag – the shape, the color. The larger of the two looks like the perfect size…
This bag has attitude. I would like to have that attitude.
My favorite color is glitter – how is this bag not already in my closet??
To Trim the Tree
I love how delicate and perfect vintage celluloid jewelry is…and that blue…
I’m always looking for ways to add a bit of joy to my hair… these hairpins might be it.
I’ve been hard at work making an autumn-themed skirt. Can there be a more perfect necklace to style it with??
You all are well aware of my obsession with citrus themed anything…
I never say no to sparkle….
This necklace is sheer vintage perfection…
We are definitely having a socially distant holiday this year. Although I know how hard it is to be away from loved ones, especially around the holidays, this might be one of the most important times of this whole pandemic, where we need to be as cautious as possible.
Luckily, thanks to the galavanting we have done to all corner’s of the earth, my family is a PRO at things like Zoomsgiving and Virtual Christmas. And though it will be very difficult not to have the chance to hug them tight, be there when my niece tears into her gifts, or see my mom’s face in person light up when she opens a special gift, I realized the best gift I can give this season is to keep family safe.
So, that’s my wishlist done. How your Christmas shopping going?
xoxo
