It must be said, I absolutely love separates. I love the flexibility in knowing they can be styled a million different ways, just waiting for inspiration to strike. So there’s a special kind of joy reserved for finding a matching vintage set that can be worn together, or divided up to simply increase your wardrobe arsenal…
This perfectly embroidered vintage skirt is part of a set I was lucky enough to snag from Xtabay Vintage – worn together it looks like a snappy little shirtwaister. But, I decided to divide and conquer today and got to play with a bit of mixing and matching. I’ve been trying to get into remixing up my wardrobe more and more. Acquiring less, being more thoughtful in terms of the garments I do welcome into the fold. But then there is a set like this, with endless styling options built into her very existence. Can you blame a gal for rationalizing hitting the “buy” button??
We have been swimming in weeks of rain lately. While my neighbors to the North are buried in snow, I know I can’t complain. But, grey and drizzle is not the type of weather that gets me inspired. Particularly because it means we’re even more cooped up than usual – walks around the neighborhood have really become our sanity in a COVID world.
Turns out, there’s always a bit of mixing and matching that’s not restricted to my closet. The good with the bad. The stressed with the hopeful. The sun with the rain. So, with a glaring eye out my window and a potential vaccine date on the horizon for next month, I shall accept what I have no control over and look forward to the good things to come. In the meantime, I’ll just be here mixing and matching to my heart’s content, until the sun peeks through the clouds once again.
Here’s hoping…
xoxo
